MIXED USE
Parken vid Hyllie: Sweden and Syria | A Cultural Convergence

The idea behind this project was to explore a cultural connection between Syria and Sweden and use that to form a bond between the two countries. The intent was to create a space where all feel welcome and safe, especially as more Syrian refugees flee to countries, such as Sweden. The building was designed to have a bakery on the first floor and family apartments on the second and third floors. This will provide a common space for everyone to feel welcome to come together and enjoy one another, as well as much needed housing in the city of Malmo.
This conceptual design was created from the ground up, base on the fibonacci sequence. Inspired by the coffee bean and its natural form. Everything in nature follows to fibonacci sequence. I created abstract models, pushing and pulling forms to create the idea of a coffee plant and bean. From that I took away the hexagon form that was created and utilized that to create the structure and inspire much of the design.
